Document cameras for the help desk, head-mounted cameras for the field.

A gooseneck document camera for help desk benches and a hands-free head-mounted camera for technicians in the field. Sold inquiry-only from Austin, configured for the call tool your support team already runs.

Why a help desk buys a document camera

A webcam pointed at a desk is the wrong tool

Most help desks start the same way. Somebody angles their laptop webcam down at a router or a label, the image is mirrored and soft, and the caller says "the green one, no, the other green one" for four minutes. A document camera for help desk work fixes that with a lens that looks straight down, focuses at 20 cm and holds still.

The failure we see most often is not resolution. It is light. A 13 MP sensor under a ceiling fluorescent shows a serial-number sticker as a white smear. That is why the RS-D carries its own LED ring, and why we set exposure on the bench rather than leaving it on auto.

For field technicians the problem flips. They need both hands on a ladder, a panel or a pump, and the expert back at base needs to see what they see. That is the remote support head mounted camera: 1080p from eye level, voice through a headset, no phone held in a fist.

RS-D

RS-D: a document camera for help desk benches

A 13 MP sensor on a gooseneck, over a weighted base heavy enough that a cable tug does not drag it off the desk. It plugs in over USB and shows up as an ordinary camera, so Teams, Zoom, and most remote-access and ticketing tools can select it without a driver.

Help desks, repair counters, IT depots and anyone who reads part numbers aloud for a living. We also fit it for trainers who demonstrate a device to a remote class. It is not a meeting camera. Point it at a person and you get a very sharp image of a nose.

On the bench we set focus distance, lock exposure for a typical office desk lamp, turn off mirroring and confirm the image in the tool you name. If your team rotates between desks, tell us. We label each unit with its desk number so the settings stay put.

RS-H

RS-H: a remote support head mounted camera for field technicians

An adjustable headband, a short articulated arm that puts the lens beside the eye, and a battery pack at the back. It streams 1080p of whatever the technician is looking at to the engineer or vendor on the other end of the call. Both hands stay on the job.

We sell it to facilities teams, HVAC and electrical contractors, plant maintenance and equipment vendors who would rather send one junior technician than fly a senior one. It earns its price the first time an expert at base talks somebody through a fault they have never seen.

It does not replace a site visit for anything that needs a permit or a second pair of hands. And it is not a safety helmet. On sites that require a hard hat, ask us about a helmet clip before you order, because the headband alone will not do.

Before it ships we pair it with the headset or phone the technician will actually carry, set the video profile for your network, and run it for 48 hours on your platform. The battery figure we measure goes on the delivery sheet.

Order to first call

How a support camera order runs

Ten working days is typical for in-stock units. Larger fleets are staged in batches.

  1. Day 1

You tell us the tool and the job

Which call or remote-access software, how many seats or technicians, and one photo of a typical desk or job site. We reply with a written quote and say plainly if a cheaper webcam would do.

  2. Days 2 to 6

    Bench setup and 48-hour burn-in

Firmware set to the version your IT team approves, exposure and focus locked, headsets paired, and each unit run for 48 hours in your platform on a live test call.

  3. Days 7 to 10

    Labelled and shipped

Every unit carries a tag with its settings and the seat or technician it belongs to. In the Austin area we can hand them over at the desk and run the first call with your team.

  4. 30 days

    Configuration support

A tool update that drops the camera, a new laptop image, a technician who swapped headsets. Call and we fix the setting. Details on the warranty page.

Before you order

Questions support managers ask

Will the document camera work in our ticketing or remote-access tool?

It presents as a standard USB camera, so anything that can pick a webcam can pick it. We test it in the call or support tool you name before it ships.

How long does the head-mounted camera run on one battery?

Battery life depends on resolution and radio. We measure it on the bench at 1080p on your platform during the 48-hour burn-in and write the figure on the delivery sheet, rather than quote a brochure number.

Can we buy one to try before rolling out to the whole desk?

Yes. Most help desks start with two RS-D units on their busiest seats. The single-unit price sits at the top of the band, and we credit the difference if the full order follows within the quote's validity.

Who is this page not for?

A team that runs two support calls a week. A phone camera is enough at that volume, and we would rather say so than sell a gooseneck that gathers dust. The same goes for a desk that only ever needs a face on screen: look at the CAM-4W USB camera instead.

Remote support inquiry

Tell us who takes the calls

The support tool, how many desks or technicians, and a photo of a typical job. That is enough for a first answer.

Leave a phone or an email. One is enough.

We answer within one working day. No quote is binding until it is in writing.
